Melt candy bars and 1/2 cup butter in saucepan over low heat. Beat remaining 1/2 cup butter and sugar in medium size bowl until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well. Add flour and baking soda alternately with buttermilk. Stir until smooth. Add melted candy, mixing well. Stir in vanilla and nuts. Pour in tube pan. Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour and 20 minutes until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Cool completely. Frost (recipe follows).
