Description
A traditional Japanese ritual involving the preparation and serving of matcha tea in a specially designed room.
Technical
The traditional Japanese tea ceremony preparation involves a specific temperature range for water, between 60°C to 80°C, to prevent scalding and bring out the optimal flavor of the matcha. The matcha powder is made from shade-grown green tea leaves, which are rich in L-theanine and have a higher chlorophyll content than regular green tea leaves. The preparation process typically takes around 30 minutes to an hour, including the time to heat the water, whisk the matcha, and serve the tea in a traditional Japanese tea bowl.
