Abstract
Caulerpa racemosa (C. racemosa) is a representative species of the genus Caulerpa, which is commonly eaten along the tropical and subtropical waters. It has been found that C. racemosa is rich in polysaccharides and exhibits a variety of biological activities, including anti-viral, anti-cancer, anti-leishmanial, and anti-inflammatory properties. However, the current extraction methods for C. racemosa polysaccharides are relatively simple, and the molecular mechanisms and precise structure-activity relationships underlying their biological activities have not been systematically elucidated. The purpose of this paper is to review the research progress of C. racemosa polysaccharides systematically. By comparing and analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of each extraction method, the potential mechanisms of action and structure-activity relationships are discussed based on existing biological activity research, and the application prospects are evaluated. This evaluation aims to provide a theoretical basis and reference for further study and comprehensive utilization of C. racemosa polysaccharides.
