Abstract
This chapter offers a strategic and multidisciplinary framework for designing next-generation food safety systems that are resilient, intelligent, and sustainable. Based on public health needs and economic importance, this work critically examines the historical and regulatory landscape of food safety, addressing current threats such as climate change, antimicrobial resistance, and globalized supply chains. The chapter incorporates core management systems—hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA)—with advanced engineering methods, including risk modeling, real-time hazard monitoring, and innovative facility design. It highlights the use of digital technologies like blockchain for traceability, artificial intelligenc
