Abstract
The food industry represents one of the most essential sectors of the global economy, linking agricultural production with processing, distribution, and consumption. This article analyzes the multidimensional significance of the food industry in ensuring food security, stimulating economic development, and promoting public health and environmental sustainability. Particular attention is given to technological innovations, sustainability challenges, and the institutional frameworks shaping the modern food system. In addition, the study examines the development of the food industry in Uzbekistan using recent statistical indicators related to agricultural production, processing capacity, and economic contribution.
