Three stages of the fortification of Split in the 17th century: comparative analysis

Abstract
In the 17th century, the core of the city of Split was fortified with three different fortification systems: strade coperte, mezzalune and the bastion fort, and only the latter has been preserved in parts. The possibility to show individual stages or elements of fortification in an understandable and clear way with a three-dimensional graphic reconstruction contributes significantly to the understanding of this specific architecture. This is particularly significant when it is no longer physically preserved and its existence is known only from historical drawings and documents.
