Abstract
The agricultural sector contributes to economic growth and development in many countries. Food scarcity, influenced by environmental factors, poses significant challenges to sustainable development. Nanotechnology is revolutionizing food security by improving food production, processing, packaging, and safety, ultimately enhancing sustainable agriculture. In recent decades, there has been a noticeable shift from conventional synthesis approaches using physical or chemical methods, which harm the environment. Recently, researchers have adopted green methods for nanoparticle synthesis, which have minimal or no harmful effects on the environment. This chapter explores the applications of nanotechnology in addressing global food security challenges, such as enhancing food availability, safety,
