Abstract
Wheat germ oil is one of nature's richest sources of polyunsaturates, vitamin E, and octacosanol. The physicochemical properties of wheat and oat oil are similar. Oat oil has lower fatty acid unsaturation and lower vitamin E content. This article lists the fatty acid composition of both wheat and oat oil. The physiological effects of wheat germ oil are discussed and applications for the use of wheat and oat oils in commercial products are described
