Preheat broiler or grill. In a large saucepan, bring 1/3 cup water to a boil. Cook mussels, covered, for 3-5 mins, shaking pan occasionally, until mussels open. Discard any closed mussels. Break shells apart and arrange mussels (on the half shell) on a baking tray. Discard empty half shells. Heat oil in a medium frying pan over high heat. Saute onion and garlic for 2-3 mins, until tender. Remove from heat and toss with tomato, lemon juice and Tabasco. Season. Spoon over mussels. Combine breadcrumbs and parsley then sprinkle over mussels. Broil for 2-3 mins, until lightly toasted. Drizzle with oil before serving.
