In a small bowl mix together egg, oil,water,sugar, baking powder and salt. Gradually beat in enough flour to make a soft sticky dough. Knead for 2-3 minutes until very smooth. MAY be done in a food processor. Wrap in plastic and let it rest for 30-6- minutes at room temperature. Roll out to very thin, ~1/16". May use a pasta machine. Heat 1.5" oil until ~ 375F. Use pastry wheel to cut strips 1" wide x 4" long. Twist once or twice and drop it into oil Turn so they become evenly light brown about 1 minute. Drain on paper towels and coat with confectioners sugar. Store in an airtight container.
