Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9-inch pan. In large bowl, combine brown sugar, margarine and eggs; mix well. Stir in applesauce and vanilla; blend thoroughly. Stir in flour, 1/4 cup cocoa, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in nuts. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack. Just before serving, use foil strips to make striped design with powdered sugar, cocoa and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut into bars.
