heat gas grill on medium or charcoal grill until coals are ash white. combine barbecue sauce and preserves in small bowl; set aside. combine butter, chili powder and salt in small bowl; brush chicken breasts with butter mixture. place chicken onto grill, bone-side down. grill 20 minutes or until lightly browned. brush both sides of chicken with sauce. turn; continue grilling 10-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 165f and juices run clear when pierced with a fork. oven directions: heat broiler. prepare sauce and chicken with butter mixture as directed above. place chicken on broiler pan, bone-side up. broil 4 to 5 inches from heat 20-22 minutes or until browned. brush chicken with 1/4 cup sauce. turn; brush with remaining sauce. continue broiling, brushing occasionally with sauce, 5-10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 165f. and juices run clear when pierced with a fork.
