Rolling cooked grains into thin flakes to produce breakfast cereals like cornflakes.

Technical Description

Preconditioned grains (moisture ~20-25%) are passed through heavy-duty rollers (gap: 0.2–0.5 mm) under 50–100 kN/m pressure to flatten them into flakes, followed by toasting (150–200°C, 1–3 min) for crispness.
